For this assignment, we were supposed to go ahead and photoshop a favorite lyric over an image that in some way correlates to the song. The lyric, “we were born before the wind, yet younger than the sun”, speaks to me personally. The lyric is from Moondance by Van Morrison. Van Morrison is one of those artists that I listen to on long road trips in the midwest. It just works, somehow. I have really fond memories of listening to music in the car on these long road trips, and I think there is a certain romance to the line. It’s talking about how young and old people are at the same time. Wind is fleeting, the sun is (figuratively) eternal.
The base image is my own, and I took it while I was on a hike in the Shenandoah Valley last summer. Granted, that’s not in the midwest, but I was still on an adventure with good people. I used picmonkey.com to edit the words onto the image.
Here’s the link if you’d like to go ahead and try this!
